As summer comes to a close, why don't we take a look at McC's take on a classic summer combo? Peach cobbler a la mode. Even as words on a screen, it conjures up excitement and fond memories of summer meals with family and friends.
Per the container I'm eating from…
The beach, bbq’s, convertibles, vacations, staycations, tans, fireflies, crushes, flings, bikinis, beach hair, shorts, summer dresses, school’s out, sleeping late, surfing, Fourth of July, flip flops, baseball, block parties, bocce, bonfires, skinny dipping, crickets, sunsets, road trips, naps, linen sheets, drive-ins, picnics, thunderstorms, lemonade stands, wildflowers, lingering daylight, water balloons, escapist fiction…and McC’s Summer Fruit Cobbler.
On flavor... Tangy, house-made, local raspberry jam and the intoxicating, perfumed sweetness of Central Valley O’Henry peaches, cooked-down and stirred into sweet, Central Coast, grass-fed milk & cream, set-off by buttery, toasted chunks of golden brown, delicious, “biscuity” cobbler.
McConnell's thought it'd be nice to have the cobbler and the “a la mode”, all in one... I agree. This was a late arrival at the specialty grocer here in town, and it quickly became a late summer favorite. While this one is only around for a little longer, I recommend picking up a pint to capture what's left of summer, at least until Pumpkin Pie is back on shelves.
