My first pint of Coolhaus was amazing (Chocolate Molten Cake) and I was super excited to try out some of their other flavors. I picked up a pint of Dirty Mint Chip at the same time I bought the other one. I decided to break it open tonight. Dirty Mint Chip is described as " Fresh organic mint leaf ice cream, brown sugar & semi-sweet chips". Here is how it was...........
I took the lid off the pint and noticed the white base with a bunch of black and green specks. I took a bite and was surprised at the flavor. It was much less sweet than most mint ice creams I am used to. The texture of the base was smooth and almost a consistency of a soft serve ice cream. The green specks were actual chopped/diced up pieces of mint leaves. The flavor was very subtle, mellow and unique. It was a very "natural" flavored ice cream. The chocolate chips were small pieces of semi-sweet chocolate. They were pretty good and provided a decent crunch/chew.
Overall, I thought this pint was alright. It was very simple and not as sweet as I prefer. After the Chocolate Molten Cake pint, I was expecting greatness. Turns out, it was decent but nowhere as good as the chocolate flavored pint. Not sure if I would buy this one again. It wasn't bad, but it just didn't do anything for me.
